What does your job as Director involve?
I head up the Not-for-Profit Department covering pensions, charities, and other not-for-profit organisations.
What does a typical working day look like for you?
I start the day with a strong coffee with two sugars. Generally, I will begin by dealing and responding to client queries that have come in and catch up with the team on progress and whether there is anything that needs my involvement.
No day is the same and the way we do things has been very different the past year with a lot of the staff being home based, though we have recently started to be more office based again.
What sort of challenges do you or your clients face?
I need to ensure I am aware of changes to legislation as my area of the business is very technical and there is a lot of complexity across both accounting and tax rules in the sector which can lead to lots of questions from clients.
What do you enjoy most about working at Blue Spire?
Working with a great team of people and the days out.
Lastly, what are you looking forward to the most when things start to return to normal?
I have tickets to 11 concerts when lockdown eases so really looking to all of those! Some of which include Queen, The Stranglers, The Eagles, Aussie Pink Floyd and Avril Lavigne.
