Robin’s Nest is a Chichester-based independent specialty coffee shop dedicated to providing exceptional coffee, homemade cakes, and a welcoming atmosphere. In this Client Feature, we speak to founder Rose Bewick about her journey in the coffee industry, the inspiration behind Robin’s Nest, and her vision for creating a community-focused haven in the heart of Chichester.
Tell us a little bit about Robin’s Nest – when it started etc:
Robin’s Nest Coffee Shop is a brand new, independent specialty coffee shop in Baffins Court, Chichester. We opened our doors in June of this year.
Robin’s Nest is committed to serving excellent, ethically sourced specialty coffee; local, home-made produce; and to offering a friendly welcome to all.
What is popular at the café? Do you have a bestseller so far?
We make all our cakes, salads and sandwiches ourselves, and customers really love the ‘homemade’ aspect of what we do.
Best sellers include the gluten-free chocolate brownies, the ham and cheese toastie (we use a delicious local Sussex cheese) and the amazing salad plates (a mix of salads for just £5!
What does a normal day consist of/look like for you?
A quick cycle into the cafe, put out the tables and chairs and enjoy a coffee to myself before the morning rush (we’re open at 7.30 so have lots of early-risers nipping in for their morning coffees).
I might then spend the morning baking and prepping our lunch, then the rest of the day is making coffees and chatting to customers!
What do you love about where your business is based?
We have a little spot on the corner so we get loads of natural light, and beautiful big windows make it the perfect spot to watch the world go by.
I also love our little Baffins Court community – we are one of five independent retailers making up this pretty courtyard just off East Street.
It’s a lovely support network and a great community.
Do you have any future goals for the business or things you are looking forward to?
I’m looking forward to being discovered by more and more food and coffee-lovers!

I have worked in the hospitality industry for many years, but this is my first time venturing into the world of business.
